In a real hot saturday I felt like Jim Carrey into Dumb and Dumber (for italians Scemo e più Scemo).I reorganized an MSA 500 storage in order to install 2 new SQL 2005 Clustered instances; after preparing disk resources I replaced CD drive with a DVD Drive beacuse I had only a SQL 2005 DVD,
I completed installatio but then I got the following error message:
Cluster resource 'Disk S:' in Resource Group 'SQL Instance1' failed.
I spent a lot of time analyzing logs, using Cluster Diagnostic Tool, upgrading MSA firmware and then I realized what was the issue....
DVD replacement got a letter changes, it took S: and make impossible the allocation of letter S to Cluster disk resource !
